rosebud_turbineFive years after the Rosebud Sioux Indians in South Dakota built a giant turbine that powers their Rosebud casino near the Nebraska border, they have signed a contract to develop a wind energy farm that will power about 12,000 homes.

With plenty of wind to drive clean energy and an expanding wind industry, Native American Indians may find in their natural surroundings help for their own struggling economies as they have with casinos, Felicity Barringer reports in The New York Times.
