Richmond on the Rebound: A Challenged City Catches a Break
This winter, Richmond snagged a coup, with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory selecting the history, but long struggling, Northern California city as the preferred site of a vast new campus devoted to bioscience, bringing a promise of business start-ups and spin-offs to the community’s economy and morale, my colleague Paul Mindus wrote in the August issue of The Monthly, an East Bay magazine. Illinois View Against Stadium Tax Breaks Dovetails with Saint Index
Illinois residents don’t like the idea of giving tax breaks to sports teams. These findings dovetail well with national polling from the Saint Index, which shows 73% of Americans opposed to the use of taxpayer funds for pro sports stadiums or their infrastructure. Click here .
