mastheadContent_r1_c2The Powell Shale Digest has published as a guest column an article by The Saint Consulting Group’s Travis Sexton on organizing an approach to building community support for fracking.

The article, which appears on pages 14-17 in the January newsletter of the shale industry publication, was first published in The Saint Report last month by Travis, who is vice president, west coast division, for Saint Consulting, based in San Ramon, CA.

The article describes how a political campaign approach creates a process for building community support for controversial development projects like hydraulic fracturing. It explains the concept of building vocal advocacy as a counter voice to opposition and describes the Advocacy Pyramid. The aim is to identify, engage, harness and mobilize community support to build a core of vocal advocates who will stand up and speak for the energy industry.
