pickens_chicago T Boone Pickens has taken his crusade for renewable energy to a town hall setting at Chicago’s Navy Pier where he identified Illinois as one of the states in the “Wind belt”, an area that stretches from Texas to North Dakota and where wind turbines would become as common to the “landscape as country roads, silos and combines.”

The multibillionaire, speaking without notes, was promoting his plan for increasing the production and use of natural gas and wind energy. He has also visited Albuquerque, N.M., Fargo, N.D. and Austin, Texas among other cities.

Thanks to Medill Reports for picking up the meeting.
