The impact of NIMBY opposition on renewable energy proposals intrigues many, and The Saint Report has published several posts on the issue. John Reeder, a senior adviser at Sperry Van Ness in California, examines the topic in a recent post on Marketwi.se, the blog on investment real estate news and commentary.
In a post referring to the Saint Index findings published in USA Today, he finds that some people have a knee-jerk “no” response to solar energy for two reasons: a tendency to oppose anything proposed near them, and a lack of knowledge about solar energy plants that leaves them with an uneducated aversion to them.
