Mortgage Banking: NIMBY supporters stall commercial development

Mortgage Banking — September 2010 — Despite an oversupply of housing, 87 percent of Americans say they would support new single-family housing development in their community, the 2010 U.S. Saint Index found.  A trend of less opposition to new commercial projects continued in 2010, but nearly 75 percent of Americans still say their hometown is fine the way it is or already over-developed, Saint Consulting President Patrick Fox says in an interview with Mortgage Banking magazine.
