lngIt may not be an easy read, but thanks to Anna Zalik in the Texada LNG, one can gain a clearer understanding of the appeal and potential dangers of liquified natural gas, a key element in plans by T. Boone Pickens and others to shift America’s dependence from oil — also known as fossil capitalism — to other energy sources.

As the “cleaner” hydrocarbon, natural gas has been promoted as a partial solution to the problem of global warming. Making it prize-worthy, however, depends on LNG development that is high-risk, costly, and inefficient.
