Mike Saint, Chairman of the Saint Consulting Group, will be speaking at an upcoming meeting of the South Carolina Urban Land Institute.
The politics, the economics and the emotion of real estate development are incredibly complex and layered equations. Population growth in South Carolina outpaces the rest of the country with the greatest influx of immigration headed to the coastal areas. Experts assert that there are more than 40 people per day moving to the Charleston region. The increased stress on infrastructure, the rising cost of living and the changing landscape of the cities and towns where many have spent their entire lives has resulted in confusion, anger and a decidedly contentious and expensive development environment.
Mike Saint, founder of the Saint Consulting Group, specializes in bringing together the private, public and non-profit sectors to identify solutions and strategies to meet the needs of today’s residents while balancing those of future residents. Following Mike’s presentation, Mike will moderate a panel discussion of those engaged in the development cycle locally – what they wished they understood, how they worked with the municipality to find a better solution than what is writing the zoning ordinance and making sure information is managed responsibly with community interest groups.
