The Saint Aggregates and Quarries Practice develops and implements winning strategies on behalf of producers of stone, sand, gravel and pulverized rocks like limestone, granite and sandstone.

Major engagements in this sector include securing land use permits for a contentious 130-acre development that included more than 1 million square feet of retail space, along with an adjacent nearly 200-acre office and research development; securing approval of 175 square feet of retail and restaurants in a upscale lifestyle center situated on more than 30 acres; and securing the approval for a mixed-use project on over 400 acres. Our work on these cases and many others has consisted of building public support for needed variances, rezoning, special use permits, conditional use permits and other relief from local decision makers.

Energy

The Saint Energy Practice represents clients across the oil, natural gas, electrical power generation, power transmission and renewable energy industries.

Our natural gas clients are typically seeking permit approvals at the local and state level for exploration and production activities as well as midstream and gathering facilities while our power generation clients are seeking state and federal permits in addition to any necessary local or county zoning relief.

This practice also focuses on linear type energy projects such as transmission lines and pipelines which are inherently more difficult to permit due to the shear number of people impacted typically by the project and the scope of jurisdiction for approval.

Amongst many wins for our clients, the Saint Energy Team has won an air and land use permit for the first greenfield oil refinery approved since 1976, permits for natural gas production in some of the toughest shale plays in the United States and permits for power plants and pipelines. We have also worked to permit more than 2500 MW of renewable energy from wind energy conversion systems.
